Examples and Explications

Disrupting the Online Space

Inundating Twitter and Youtube with content the Islamic State churns out propaganda like a well-oiled machine - an estimated 38.2 unique propaganda materials produced each day.

Twitter was incredibly useful for ISIS both as a tool to disseminate propagandized information and also as a mode of interacting and connecting with potential recruits. A March 2015 study from the Brookings Institution estimated that from September through December 2014, ISIS supporters used at least 46,000 Twitter accounts, though not all of them were active at the same time.
